The Alexander Buildings were built originally in 1929 and significantly re-established in 1938 with an Art Deco feel. The Alexander Buildings have been a pivotal site in the Mount Lawley precinct and has seen many refurbishments over recent years with the most recent completed in 2021.

The site consists of a number of local and national retailers along with a Fresh Provisions supermarket, which has been part of the local community for many years.
